White Fillings

Made of Composite Resin, these are a tooth coloured material that are filled with glass particles like silicone dioxide. Composites are used to restore cavities and also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile. They come in various colours to match the existing shade of our teeth.

Ceramic Fillings

If the size of your cavity is significant, then an option would be to restore the tooth with a stronger filling material. These are also called ‘inlays & onlays’, and provides a long term durable restoration to strengthen and reinforce your tooth. The porcelain veneers material offers a great alternative to your standard composite filling material, as it is made to match the shape and shade of your natural teeth.

Dental Crown

Crowns are made of either a tooth coloured material or an alloy like gold, that completely covers the tooth. They are used to support a tooth, and decrease the chances of the tooth fracturing. When a tooth is heavily filled, has cracks or has had a root canal treatment, crowns help lengthen the life of the tooth. Crowns are also used for cosmetic reasons to change the shape or colour of your tooth. They can be made of various ceramic materials or alloys like gold.

Dental Bridge

Dental Bridges are used when there is one or more missing teeth that needs to be replaced. The adjoining teeth may also be weak and it’s existing structure would benefit from a crown. These teeth can be joined, or bridged together, and can be made of various materials. Ceramics like Lithium Di-silicate, Emax, Zirconia and Gold can all be used in the making of a Dental Bridge or Crown.

FAQ’S About Dental Restorations

How long do Crowns, Bridges and Fillings last?

Usually, restorations in your mouth fail due to pre-existing factors. Acidic saliva can destroy the bond between the materials, and cause them to fail. The forces on your teeth are based on each individuals habits and muscles. Excess forces can crack a tooth, and hence any material placed in the mouth can eventually crack as well. Good Oral Hygiene, involving both brushing and flossing, is essential so that decay or bacteria does not get between the joinery of your new restoration and your teeth. All these factors will affect the lifespan and longevity of your teeth.

What does a Crown or Bridge procedure involve?

The procedure is done under a local anaesthetic and a mould is taken of the prepared tooth. A temporary crown is placed, and these moulds are then sent off to our Master Ceramists who then construct the prosthetics. Different materials are chosen and designed depending on the location of the crown in your mouth, and the amount of force exerted on these teeth. The second appointment roughly 2 weeks later is when the crown or bridge is inserted.

How much does a Crown cost?

This will depend on the material chosen, as well as the location of the tooth in the mouth. Creating a cosmetically pleasing crown involve matching the colours and proportions to match your surrounding existing teeth. Crowns range in cost from $1850 up to $2500 depending on these factors. Speak to our team who will design a treatment plan for you. Payment Options can also be discussed.

How much does a Bridge cost?

A bridge will vary in cost depending on the number of teeth that is being replaced. We will assess and provide you with a treatment plan at your consultation.

How much do Fillings cost?
